About the Customer
Neuro-Insight is a global leader in neuromarketing and neuroanalytics, specialising in brain-response measurement. Their proprietary technology helps major brands and agencies understand how audiences feel and think about advertising and digital experiences, turning complex neural signals into clear, defensible insight for brand and agency decision-making. Because customer teams rely on these outputs to move quickly and confidently, speed, accuracy, and consistency in data and reporting are critical to everything they deliver.Setting the Scene
Neuro-Insight’s business model depends on running neuromarketing studies efficiently and at scale, delivering high-quality insight to brands before advertising campaigns go to market. Traditionally, studies were conducted in physical locations using legacy desktop applications and wired device connections, requiring participants to attend in person.
The organisation had no mobile or remote execution capability. As demand grew and studies expanded geographically, this location-bound model became increasingly costly, operationally complex, and difficult to scale. Venue coordination, fixed session scheduling, and legacy desktop constraints increased costs, slowed throughput, and limited geographic expansion. Without modernisation, scalable growth would require proportionally higher operational overhead.
Neuro-Insight partnered with Datavid to the design and build a modern remote study platform, enabling participants to complete studies at home using mobile devices and WiFi-enabled data capture hardware, while maintaining scientific rigour and data quality.

The Challenges
As Neuro-Insight explored new ways to scale its study delivery model, several structural and operational constraints limited efficiency, participant reach, and overall viability at scale.
- Absence of a centralized study management platform
There was no unified system to orchestrate study distribution, device coordination, and data capture. Processes were handled across disconnected tools and workflows, limiting visibility and making it difficult to standardise delivery at scale.- Complexity of device-led execution
Neuromarketing studies rely on specialized data-capture devices and strict protocols. Legacy wired connectivity and desktop-bound execution increased operational dependency and reduced flexibility when adapting the model.- Operational overhead and scheduling constraints
Studies conducted in physical locations required venue coordination, third-party recruiters, and fixed time slots. Participant availability was limited to scheduled sessions, restricting throughput and reducing flexibility. This made study execution slower, less predictable, and harder to scale as volume increased.
- Limited geographic and participant scalability
Because studies were tied to physical locations or partner availability, expanding participation across regions required additional coordination and external support, increasing complexity and cost.
Taken together, these constraints limited Neuro-Insight’s ability to scale studies efficiently, maximise participant availability, and maintain predictable, cost-effective delivery.

beyond physical constraints?

The Solution
To address these constraints, Datavid redesigned Neuro-Insight’s study execution architecture, moving from location-bound, manually coordinated workflows to a scalable, digitally orchestrated platform.

The solution combined a centralized control layer with multi-platform applications and modernized device integration, enabling remote participation while preserving scientific rigour and operational control.
- Centralized study orchestration platform
At the core of the new architecture, Datavid built a centralized study management application responsible for configuring, managing, and distributing studies across platforms. This system orchestrates study deployment, coordinates device interactions, and governs data ingestion, creating a single control point for execution and visibility across all active studies.
- Device integration and execution protocols
Datavid re-engineered device communication to move from legacy wired desktop connections to secure WiFi-based integration. This enabled participants to connect shipped devices to their mobile phones at home, while ensuring reliable signal capture and consistent data transfer back to the central platform.- Multi-platform study applications
Datavid developed modern mobile (iOS and Android) and desktop (Windows and macOS) applications that receive and execute studies delivered by the centralized platform. These applications guide participants through setup, device connection, and content delivery, enabling a consistent study execution regardless of location or device. By separating orchestration from execution, the architecture enables distributed study deployment while preserving consistent participant workflows and governance control.
- Device integration and execution protocols
Datavid re-engineered device communication to move from legacy wired desktop connections to secure WiFi-based integration. This enabled participants to connect shipped devices to their mobile phones at home, while ensuring reliable signal capture and consistent data transfer back to the central platform.
- Extension of existing research methodologies
Neuro-Insight’s established methodologies, including implicit-response testing, were preserved and integrated into the modernized platform architecture. Datavid extended these capabilities across mobile environments, allowinge stablished scientific approaches to scale within the new execution model.
The Outcomes
With the modernised platform in place, Neuro-Insight achieved tangible improvements across cost, reach, and operational efficiency:
- Expanded participant reach
Studies could be conducted with participants at home, supporting broader geographic coverage.- Improved operational efficiency
Centralised control simplified study execution and reduced logistical complexity.- Reduced delivery costs
Remote participation lowered reliance on physical venues and external recruiters for many studies.- A flexible foundation for future evolution
The platform supports new study formats and delivery models without reworking core systems.

As a result, Neuro-Insight is better positioned to scale its neuromarketing services while retaining control over quality, cost, and execution.
